ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to a Project Manager, you will direct the field crew to complete projects in an accurate, timely, and efficient manner to meet contractual obligations. You could also be involved in engineering, construction, or legal surveying in urban and/or rural areas.


RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Take direction from the Project Manager to understand the following: project objectives, allocated budgets, goals, schedules, and timeframes
  • Communicate scope and schedule information to team members, set expectations, and ensure project tasks are completed on time
  • Lead Field crew and prepare accurate notes, sketches and field data
  • Conduct conventional and GNSS field surveys of various types of surveys including engineering, construction, and legal projects
  • Interpret Architectural and Engineering drawings for layout and as-built survey purposes.
  • Work with laser scanners and drones on various construction and engineering projects
  • Participate in HSE and Quality Management reporting, inspections, investigations, audits, and reviews
  • Understand and document project scope changes requested by the client and communicate this to the Project Manager
  • Represent our client, Global Raymac, and yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times

EDUCATION, TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma/Degree in a post-secondary program related to surveying and geomatics or an equivalent experience
  • Up to 5 years of previous experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong and proven spatial recognition and problem-solving skills in a field environment
  • Experience of Trimble equipment and software, laser scanning, drones and line locating considered an asset
  • Basic computer operation for email, spreadsheets, and search functions
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the capacity to produce accurate and legible field notes. Reading ability is required, e.g., to follow written instructions
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
