Job Overview

The Analyst, Treasury is accountable for the maintenance of day-to-day treasury related activities and supports the implementation and monitoring of liquidity and funding management along with internal and external financial reporting related to securitization and product pricing for FirstOntario Credit Union.

Role

In the role, you will...

  • Meticulously prepare and maintain daily reporting on cash flows, lines of credits, broker deposits, foreign exchange and liquidity
  • Prepare and maintain weekly pricing models for various business lines
  • Recommend and execute foreign exchange hedging transactions
  • Diligently prepare and maintain weekly and monthly reports such as liquidity forecasts, competitive pricing grids, foreign exchange exception quotes and securitization administration
  • Oversee the NHA MBS securitization process, including but not limited to the preparation, review and verification of data, pools, submission files, legal agreements and prepare working papers and documentation for internal and external auditors
  • Oversee the portfolio insurance process with mortgage insurance entities
  • Accurately prepare and maintain cost structure workbooks and the calculations of P&L relating to securitizations for various new NHA MBS issuances
  • Process wire transfer requests and review validity of such requests from third parties relating to securitization and investment programs
  • Collect and prepare loan documents submitted by third parties for completeness and audit review
  • Support onboarding of new GIC/Deposit brokers
  • Assist treasury to establish new products and counterparties by following up with required documentation
  • Continuously monitor and ensure compliance with line of credit agreements and covenants; prepare corresponding compliance packages for submission
  • Ensure full compliance of corporate policies and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee liquidity forecasting and funding tools
  • Incorporate fact-based research elements in all that you do
  • Perform other treasury function duties as required
  • Consider health & safety as a primary concern to ensure the overall well-being of self and others

Required Skills

Within your skills and qualifications, you will...

  • Have financial accounting skills which you built from the ground up with a post-secondary degree in accounting, finance and/or economics and have obtained or are in the process of obtaining a relating professional designation (CFA or CPA)
  • Be experienced in the world of accounting and finance having spent a minimum of 2 years working in the field preferably with a treasury background within the financial services industry
  • Be in the know and actively apply leading industry practices for the treasury function in a financial institution
  • Have sound knowledge in capital markets including but not to limited money markets, securitization, repurchase agreements, fixed income, interest rate markets, foreign exchange derivatives and cash transactions
  • Be proficient with data query/analysis tools
  • Utilize data analytics to write meaningful reports and confidently present findings to business partners that will enable them to make informed decisions
  • Manage multiple priorities with strict deadlines
  • Possess an innate ability to be detail-oriented and have an incredible passion for ensuring the accuracy of numerical data
  • Experience in implementation of database management
  • Be a true leader in every aspect of the word who consistently walks the talk and demonstrates an overly positive attitude
  • Inherently demonstrate a high level of integrity and be trustworthy
  • Innately demonstrate superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Take action in difficult and challenging situations and deal with uncertainty

  • Be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as the job demands and travel as required
