StellarAlgo is the sports CDP that makes it easy to access and take action on fan data across teams and leagues, increasing fan engagement, revenue and sponsorship opportunities. We’re focused on growing and monetizing the world's most passionate digital audiences by recruiting high performers who know how to go for gold, work with their team, solve problems in real time, and speak up with creative ideas.
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Director of Finance to play a key role in StellarAlgo’s financial operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting, overseeing the budgeting process, and supporting key strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate is a CPA (Big 4 background preferred) with strong accounting expertise, excellent critical thinking skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. They will be instrumental in enhancing financial processes, building strong relationships across the organization, and providing key insights to support executive decision-making.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the company's financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to drive strategic decision-making.
- Oversee the accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with relevant standards.
- Drive budget-to-actual reporting, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP by researching and documenting accounting treatments for complex transactions. Develop and maintain accounting policies and prepare technical accounting memos to support financial reporting and audits.
- Establish and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.
- Implement and enhance internal controls, financial policies, and best practices to improve efficiency and risk management. Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO, assisting with key financial projects and initiatives as needed.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support business objectives.
- Build relationships across the organization, proactively seeking out opportunities to improve processes and provide financial guidance.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, with a proven track record of overseeing accounting functions and managing budgets.
- Experience working in or with technology companies is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, and best practices; solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting. Prior experience with U.S. GAAP considered an asset.
