Lime is seeking a seasoned and visionary Engineering Manager to lead our Payments & Trust team, the engineering force behind powering seamless, secure and scalable transactions for millions of riders worldwide. In this critical role, you’ll drive the evolution of our global payments platform and fraud detection systems across 250+ cities and 5 continents. You will shape strategy, scale infrastructure, and lead high-performing engineers to deliver safe, reliable and delightful rider experiences while protecting Lime against malicious activity.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and scale the Payments & Trust engineering team, fostering a high-performance culture across backend, frontend and mobile engineers.
  • Own the design and implementation of global payment systems, PSP integrations and reconciliation workflows that power frictionless and secure transactions.
  • Build intelligent fraud detection and prevention platforms, collaborating with Data Science to defend against evolving threats and bad actors.
  • Drive the roadmap, architecture and technical vision for high-volume, low-latency payment processing systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Finance, Operations and Legal to align technical execution with business goals.
  • Mentor and grow engineering talent, cultivating future leaders and scaling team capabilities with Lime’s growth.
  • Promote engineering excellence through code quality, reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Define and track KPIs to measure the effectiveness of the payment systems in terms of performance, fraud prevention, uptime and user satisfaction.

About You

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in an engineering management role, leading high-performing teams.
  • Direct experience in building or managing payment systems, fraud detection systems, or financial risk platforms—preferably at scale.
  • Strong technical depth in backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, and high-volume, real-time transaction systems.
  • Deep understanding of payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, Adyen, Braintree), PSP integrations, PCI compliance, chargebacks, and KYC/AML considerations.
  • Experience with fraud prevention tools and methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects across multiple teams in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.

Compensation Range: $184K - $253K
