Imperial Dade Canada, leading national distributor, has a job open in Toronto. This position will be responsible for evaluating and installing computer software, hardware, and operating system software. They will provide 3rd level troubleshooting for computer system, storage and network issues and perform server and information backups and recovery operations, designing, installing, and upgrading data security systems. This role will also be operating firewalls, file servers, and other computer systems, continually monitoring systems for security breaches and risks, monitoring Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), and network segments for security threats, responding to user issues, concerns, problems, and inquiries. This position will also focus on improving the efficiency of our datacenter infrastructure and availability of our product applications, as well as performing technical services work for internal and external customers. This candidate must have robust analysis and troubleshooting skills with experience managing enterprise-class applications and infrastructure and have the ability to work flexible hours required.

Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain AD, Virtual Network, Load Balancer, Firewall, Storage, DNS, and Backup.
- Created and managed Disaster Recovery Plans
- Provide technical advice and recommendations to application and infrastructure teams looking to harden and/or create High Availability/Disaster Recovery certified systems.
- Deploy, manage, and operate various Virtual Machines and Networking Services to support growth into the cloud platform (Azure and AWS)
- Research and recommend optimization for various SaaS Cloud Services (Azure/AWS) for cost/performance (VM optimization, reserved instances, etc.)
- Leadership Skills including attention to details.
- Communication (excellent written and oral communication skills)
- Recommend, develop, plan, manage, implement, and fully document IT projects.
- Identify improvements to IT documentation, processes, and procedures and enhance overall IT documentation.
- Manage and respond to IT inquiries throughout its lifecycle.
- Research products and new technologies to increase the efficiency of business and operations.
- Be the escalation point as SME for IT Ops incidents.
- Keep IT tickets and projects up to date.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on systems infrastructure as required.
- Participation in on-call rotation required.
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers.
- Install & maintain hardware and software and participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of the organization.
- Actively resolve problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company.
- Strong customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to support a 24x7 operation; includes on-call schedule.
- MCSD (Azure Solutions Architect) or MCSE (Cloud Platform and Infrastructure)
- MCITP (IT Professional) Windows Server 2008 and below, Microsoft MCSA in Windows Server 2012R2 and above
- Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate
- Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA). CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, and CompTIA Security+
- VMWare Certified Professional (VCP) preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or a certificate from a technical training institute
- 5-7 years’ experience as a System Administrator in a Windows-based environment, supporting/managing production systems/hosted 24x7 virtual server environments.
- Working experience with cloud services: AZURE, and AWS
- Working experience Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016/2019/2021
- Working experience managing .NET websites in IIS 7.0+
- Experience maintaining OS and framework updates and patching.
- Experience conducting a base-level security review of the environment desired.
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, ManageEngine…etc.
- VMware knowledge is required.
- Proficiency in VMware associated programs and coding languages, such as Windows Server, MS IIS, SAN architecture, WebSphere, Citrix, Python, and C++.
- Rubrik backup technologies knowledge
- IBM or Lenovo Storage and SAN architecture knowledge
- Understanding of custom-developed SaaS apps hosting, DevOps/scripting/automation, pushing code to production on IIS / Microsoft ecosystem
- Basic understanding of SQL queries desired.
- Experience with cloud monitoring tools desired (e.g., New Relic, Splunk, Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch
- Strong scripting experience preferred (PowerShell, AzureCLI, etc.)
- Knowledge of LINUX and UNIX will be a plus.
- Very detail-oriented in planning, implementation, documentation, and follow-up
- The ability to work entirely independently and/or with a team.
