This position is a member of the Health, Safety, Quality, Environment (HSQE) and Security team of the Canada Line Operation (fully automated public transit railway connecting Vancouver to Richmond and Vancouver to Airport). The incumbent will assist with development, implementation and maintenance of the Security systems, policies, programs and initiatives.
This includes coordination with Police, such as securing and providing recorded CCTV for police files. This position will also maintain security risk assessments for the Canada Line by collecting and analyzing data, performing inspections of physical security, and monitoring the functioning of detection systems. As well as coordinating periodic penetration tests to identify areas of vulnerability and test methods for deterrence, detection, denial, delay, and response.
This role also supports the HSQE team in its role providing Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Assurance for the organization. This includes delivering training, performing investigations, assisting with audits, maintaining procedures and documents.

Your Role Within The Team
- Secures and provides recorded CCTV to Police, internal and external stakeholders while maintaining appropriate records and complying with BC’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
- Coordinate drills, exercises and training with Police agencies.
- Investigate security incidents such as theft, vandalism, threats or assaults and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Refresh and maintain security assessments by conducting inspections, audits, data collection, data analysis, and interviews with staff.
- Coordinate periodic penetration tests to maintain organizational readiness and test areas of vulnerability.
- Maintain the access control system including the record keeping and issuing of keys, badges and other access devices to others.
- May be requested to be a witness in court representing their role in providing recorded CCTV to Police.
- Provides HSQE support such as on-the-job support with hazard identification, conducting risk assessments, recommending corrective measures, acting as the HSE observer at job sites and during line inspections.
- Provides advice to other department managers for improvement opportunities or risk reduction.
- Provides support with reviewing, understanding, implementing, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Provides on-the-job training for new hires, contractors and other orientations as needed.
- Provides support with compliance to WorkSafe BC, Corporate, Railway Safety Act. and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Provides support with internal and external audits as established by the department.
- Supports with the investigation of incidents and accidents, including determining root cause, corrective or preventive actions, and follow-up to ensure actions have been implemented effectively.
- Maintains proper record keeping and confidentiality practices.
- Maintains Company communications including bulletin boards, electronic screens and any other HSQE related platforms.
- Performs other duties as assigned and/or required in the HSQE field. This may be associated with any of the ISO Management Systems for Safety, Security, Quality and Environment.

- Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $72,000 - $107,700 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
- Diploma or certificate in Law Enforcement, Security Management, or Emergency Management.
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or equivalent certification is an asset.
- 3 years of experience in managing security programs, security systems, compliance or a related field.
- Experience with CCTV systems and compliance with privacy laws such as BC’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
- Experience in health, safety, quality, and environment (HSQE) support and compliance.
- Experience in conducting security assessments, audits, and investigations.
- Experience in coordinating with law enforcement agencies and conducting security drills and training.
- Attention to detail for maintaining records and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with access control systems is an asset.
- Technical proficiency in managing CCTV systems and access control systems.
- Knowledge of WorkSafe BC and Railway Safety Act. is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for investigating incidents and conducting security assessments.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with external agencies and providing training.
- Ability to abide by AtkinsRéalis Code of Conduct especially maintaining confidentiality at all times and avoiding conflict of interest.

- This position mainly works on day shift but depending on the need of the organization and since the Canada Line is a 24/7 operation some night shift and odd hours of work are required which will be arranged in advance.
- The position is mainly on-site with limited remote working which should be arranged in advance.
- This position may be required to attend meetings off-site as requested to act as a witness in their role providing CCTV to police agencies.
- The Incumbent is expected to abide by all the established security protocols and support with enhancing the security of the developed systems and the Canada Line as defined within the projects.
