Associate Lawyer - Civil Litigation | Grande Prairie

One of Alberta's largest regional law firms is recruiting for a Civil Litigation Associate Lawyer to join their Grande Prairie office. The Opportunity

The growing practice in the Grande Prairie office requires a Civil Litigation Associate Lawyer to continue the tradition of delivering exceptional client service. The firm offers a collegial atmosphere where professionals are engaged, connected, and supported in their career development.

Qualifications And Competencies

  • Minimum 1-5 years' experience (3+ years preferred) in Civil Litigation including general litigation, family law & divorce, construction litigation, estates litigation, and corporate commercial litigation.
  • Law degree from an accredited Canadian law school or educational equivalent and membership in good standing with a provincial law society.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Highly focused with attention to detail; a motivated self-starter.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience with and ability to handle all phases of litigation from discovery through trial.

Compensation & Hours

  • Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
  • Regular full-time position with working hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, subject to change.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and client needs.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts and briefs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with laws.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients, advocating for their best interests.
  • Manage case files and maintain organized records, adhering to deadlines and time management practices.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to provide updates and gather necessary information.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
