This is Product Engineering role, and as a Guidewire PolicyCenter Test Automation Lead, you will be responsible for leading the test automation efforts for our Guidewire PolicyCenter implementation projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute robust test automation strategies, ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions. For Guidewire platform, the Product Engineering will support the Managing Engineering and Lead Engineering on larger Guidewire engagements, leading and managing automation strategy, ensuring successful execution, alignment with company objectives, and coordination across teams.

This is Product Engineering role, and as a Guidewire PolicyCenter Test Automation Lead, you will be responsible for leading the test automation efforts for our Guidewire PolicyCenter implementation projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute robust test automation strategies, ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions. For Guidewire platform, the Product Engineering will support the Managing Engineering and Lead Engineering on larger Guidewire engagements, leading and managing automation strategy, ensuring successful execution, alignment with company objectives, and coordination across teams.
Accountabilities:
- Accountable to the Managing Engineering (s) for the success of assigned GW automation project(s).
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of automated test scripts for Guidewire PolicyCenter using Selenium and GT framework.
- Develop and maintain UI and API test automation frameworks to support continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Collaborate with other product engineering (developers, QA engineers) and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into comprehensive test automation scenarios.
- Drive the adoption of best practices and standards for test automation, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability of automation suites.
- Execute automated tests, analyze test results, and report defects to facilitate timely resolution.
- Mentor and guide junior team members in test automation techniques, tools, and frameworks.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in test automation technologies, continuously enhancing our automation capabilities.
- Should be able to review current state automation suite (GW-Core, upstream and downstream) and come up with strategy to expand the automation coverage. Always have automation roadmap and plan ready for 30-60-90 days.
- Guidewire certified with minimum of 7 years of experience in software test automation, with a focus on Guidewire PolicyCenter.
- Strong proficiency in Guidewire Testing (GT) Framework for UI and API test automation.
- Extensive experience in designing and implementing test automation frameworks from scratch.
- Experience in the Canadian Personal Lines Insurance industry domain.
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.
- Proven leadership abilities, with the capability to mentor and inspire team members.
- Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins
- Familiarity with other test automation tools and technologies
- Knowledge of insurance domain, cloud applications and Guidewire InsuranceSuite (PC/BC/CC/Portals).
