Our multi-disciplinary team is proud of our award-winning projects like the Bow Valley Gap Wildlife Overpass, Groat Road Bridge Rehabilitation, and Walterdale Bridge—designs that consider every footprint, from wildlife and pedestrians to cyclists and vehicles. We're currently looking for a Bridge Engineer to join our Calgary Studio. As the successful candidate, you have demonstrated creativity, a collaborative spirit, and a thirst for excellence. Our bridge engineers don't just focus on the design of elements, they are involved with the entire project, understanding the constraints and complications that streams, pathways, soils, the environment, construction staging, architectural aspirations and the unique needs of project partners and stakeholders have on bridge design.

We're currently looking for a Bridge Engineer to join our Calgary Studio. As the successful candidate, you have demonstrated creativity, a collaborative spirit, and a thirst for excellence. Our bridge engineers don't just focus on the design of elements, they are involved with the entire project, understanding the constraints and complications that streams, pathways, soils, the environment, construction staging, architectural aspirations and the unique needs of project partners and stakeholders have on bridge design.
How you'll make a difference:
- Acting in the role of structural design engineer and/or field review engineer on a variety of bridge and urban infrastructure projects of all scales and complexities
- Delivering designs for new structures and for the asset management and rehabilitation of existing structures, such as vehicle bridges, pedestrian bridges, transit bridges, retaining walls, and other civil infrastructure
- Following through all phases of projects from concept design through construction
- Demonstrating the grit and skill to produce the highest technical quality in the delivery of designs, drawings, specifications, and field review services
- Working independently and in collaborative teams with engineers, architects, and other partners, both in-house and with external consultants and government agencies
- Mentoring and enabling the success of team-mates. Coach and review the work of more junior team members
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering is required, a Graduate Degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Structural Engineering is preferred
- A Professional Engineer registered with APEGA or another provincial engineering association preferred (though candidates registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with relevant industry experience will also be considered)
- A structural designer with 3-8 years of bridge design experience is preferred; project management experience is further considered an asset
- A highly creative and skilled engineer with experience in bridge design and analysis
- Have experience with technical software such as REVIT (or other BIM software), SAP2000, CSI Bridge, and/or Midas Civil (or other analysis software) is preferred.
- Thrive in a high performance team environment, including managing deadlines and multiple tasks/projects
- Dedicated to design excellence and contributing to projects that make a positive impact in our communities and transportation networks
- Committed to a collaborative approach to work with agility and resourcefulness
