About The Workplace
The Senior Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for analyzing complex business requirements and translating them into technical solution designs, involving intricate problem solving to address both business needs and technical constraints. This role will require navigating high-level challenges, often involving system integrations, scalability concerns, and optimizing workflows to meet organizational objectives.
This is a permanent, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office.
A Typical Day Would Involve
The salary range for this role is $81,200 to $122,000 annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.

About The Workplace

A Typical Day Would Involve
- Finalize Business Requirements: Review and finalize business requirements, and manage product backlog items to enhance customer experiences and achieve business objectives.
- Risk and Gap Assessment: Identify and assess risks and gaps during development, seeking direction from IT leaders as needed.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Inform and engage key stakeholders on product and service development to ensure strong collaboration and timely communication.
- System Capability Review: Assess system capabilities and translate complex business requirements into technical specifications for new programs and systems.
- Solution Analysis: Provide potential solutions and recommended approaches through impact and value analysis.
- Integration & Vendor Management: Collaborate with ITS departments and external vendors to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes and ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
- Technical Coaching: Offer advice and guidance to Digital Platform Analysts and provide technical coaching to business stakeholders and project team members to achieve team deliverables and objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a business analyst, systems analyst, or similar role.
- Willingness to work in a highly flexible environment with multiple competing priorities.
- Proven ability to innovate and adapt to the latest developments in the area of expertise. Ability to grasp new skills and content quickly.
- Advanced knowledge of database query strategies and techniques.
- Experience generating comprehensive reports and effectively presenting data findings to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in understanding and applying web analytics and web accessibility standards.
- Proficiency in API design, using Swagger, and data mapping.
- Experience with mobile app stores, including App Store Connect and Google Play Store, ensuring timely updates and compliance with platform guidelines.
- Business Analysis or IT & Process related certifications (CBAP, AAC, ITIL Foundation, CISA) are an asset.
- Experience in product implementation (e.g., Salesforce, CRM, Contact Centre technologies).
- Experience working in the financial industry.
- A Strong Communicator - you use your strong communication and interpersonal skills to create clear understanding of expectations; address challenges and issues for the business unit; and represent the unit across the organization.
- Organized & Systematic - your planning and coordination skills develop solid operating plans, processes, methods and standards for a unit and help coordinate delivery of critical information in a timely manner.
- Analytical & Decisive - with your strong problem solving and decision-making skills, you can diagnose challenges and issues; develop innovative investigative solutions; and to assess risks and opportunities.
