We are looking for a Maintenance Manager for our unit in Kingston, Canada.
OVERVIEW
The Maintenance Manager will oversee the coordination of maintenance activities to ensure the preventive and continued maintenance of the facility. Managing the machinery, equipment and maintenance personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to rules, procedures, safe work practices, health and safety standards and use of personal protective equipment
- Report and investigate all near misses/incidents/accidents resulting in personal injury or property damage
- Practice and implement Food Safety & Quality policies and procedures
- Develop and manage budgets, tracking expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Identify process improvements and equipment upgrades to improve efficiency and reduce maintenance needs
- Lead and supervise the maintenance team and contractors
- Manage the record and documentation for all maintenance activities including work orders and equipment history
- Define and ensure compliance with preventive maintenance plans and respond to requests for curative Maintenance actions in the shortest time
- Identify and redefine the necessary changes to preventive maintenance plans
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support projects and new equipment installations
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective solutions
- Actively communicate with other departments such as, production, quality, and R&D to ensure smooth coordination of maintenance activities
- Verify that all safety measures are practiced before working on any piece of equipment
- Provide training/education to the maintenance crew on proper preventative and breakdown maintenance to prevent costly downtimes
- Sense of urgency to effectively correct issues, and prioritize tasks and activities
- Manage the inventory of spare parts and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels
- Adaptability to receive feedback to improve quality and efficiency of work.
PROFILE
- Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) certifications with relevant experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance manufacturing experience in a similar role
- Ability to plan, organize and execute projects utilizing your resources.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with the capability of developing a strong team.
- Must have strong knowledge of Health and Safety and Food Safety protocols
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP
