Overview:
Arcadis Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Quality Manager to lead quality assurance and control processes across major infrastructure projects, including multidisciplinary design coordination, supplier evaluations, and technical supervision. This role is crucial in ensuring that design processes and project deliverables meet or exceed industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations, specifically aligned with ISO 9001:2015, CSA standards, and project-specific Design Quality Management Plans.

The salary range for this position is $89,600 to $134,400. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.

This role is crucial in ensuring that design processes and project deliverables meet or exceed industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations, specifically aligned with ISO 9001:2015, CSA standards, and project-specific Design Quality Management Plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical supervision for design quality initiatives across all project phases, ensuring alignment with Arcadis and client standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) following ISO 9001:2015 and CSA standards.
- Execute internal, external, and third-party audits to ensure compliance with project specifications, regulatory standards, and client expectations.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities and performance to guarantee product and service quality.
- Conduct technical problem-solving, resource planning, and risk assessment to address quality-related challenges effectively.
- Review project processes and assess outcomes to ensure quality objectives are consistently met.
- Manage non-conformance processes, including root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) implementation.
- Oversee document control, quality record management, and ensure traceability and secure storage of project documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering skill development and quality awareness.
- Maintain and update the project-specific Design Quality Management Plan and lead relevant training sessions for design teams.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to coordinate quality assurance activities and interface with contractors, consultants, and government stakeholders.
- Promote HSE awareness, adherence to safety regulations, and integration of environmental compliance in all quality activities.
- Conduct investigations and quality testing for moderate to high complexity issues, implementing solutions to resolve defects.
- Regularly report quality performance metrics, audit results, and non-conformance status to senior management and stakeholders.
- Implement Change Management procedures to maintain quality standards during project modifications and design revisions, ensuring Design Quality Management Plans (DQMP) are updated and communicated effectively to all stakeholders.
- Ensure project handover documentation meets quality and compliance standards, facilitating smooth project transitions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of combined experience in quality management for large-scale infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven expertise in implementing ISO 9001:2015 and managing Design Quality Management Plans.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in a Canadian province.
- Experience with multidisciplinary design coordination and supplier evaluations.
