Your Role:
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the efficient deployment of products and maintaining accurate inventory records within the distribution centers across the country. The role also involves working closely with our third-party logistics (3PL) provider to ensure smooth transportation, storage, and distribution of products. This position ensures operational success by managing resource allocations, optimizing inventory levels, and upholding compliance with organizational and industry standards.

What you'll be doing:

Deployment Planning and Execution

  • Responsible for working directly with 3rd Party Logistics to provide at a transactional level and ensuring visibility to operational metrics on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.

  • Ensure optimal inventory positioning across our network through optimization of replenishment to our distribution centres to deliver target fill rates.

  • Work with customer care to support specific regional customer requirements.

  • Work with the planning team to ensure correct planning parameters are in place and adjusted as required.

  • Review available inventory in branches to ensure safety stock coverage.

  • Initiate deployment when available inventory in branches drops below the re-ordering point set at each branch item.

  • Request action from supply planners when there is insufficient stock at replenishment centers.

  • Proactively manage inventory distribution related to inventory pre-builds, and seasonality.

  • Manage deployment taking into consideration space utilization at each warehouse.

  • Prioritize transfers to branches based on current available inventory at branch level.

  • Report forecast anomalies at branch-level based on usage.

  • Build optimal full-container loads.

  • Enforce consistent use of established deployment rhythms and maintain records with supportive information for all initiated transfer.


Reporting and Data Maintenance

  • Update DOS report daily with inventory and sales data.

  • Monthly update of excel-based deployment tools to account for updated forecast report and new items.

  • Attend daily operations calls and provide updates and callouts on deployment related issues impacting inventory availability.

  • EDI process monitoring and reporting.

  • Manage EDI failures on inbound receipts from 3PL (Intercompany & Supplier).

  • Manage EDI failures on inbound shipment confirmations from 3PL (Sales orders & Inter Warehouse transfers).

  • Manage EDI fail on inbound adjustments from 3PL.

  • Conduct investigation with 3PL and IT on reoccurring issues/defects.

  • Identify root cause and execute resolution and preventative requirements.


Crisis Management and Incremental Cost Tracking

  • Swiftly respond to requests from supply chain team on expedited over the road transfers as necessary, by coordinating with 3PL transportation to get competitive carrier quotes and 3PL operations on capacity to ship and receive urgent orders.
  • Enter incremental costs in finance tracker and report monthly to Finance.
  • Respond to requests to edit existing orders if necessary to avoid backorders and fill customer orders.


Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock is available for operation
  • Conduct daily inventory reconciliation across all DCs to maintain accuracy
  • Update inventory management system, JDE, with real-time data
  • Implement inventory control strategies to minimize discrepancies both physical and systematic
  • Ensure weekly, monthly and quarterly report requirements are met and published accordingly.
  • Work closely with the supply chain and customer care team to ensure recovery orders are placed to balance systematic transactions and inventory levels
  • Manage and action JDE 945 & 861 EDI error queues related to intercompany orders
  • Align with Americas to leverage the best practices and tools available through the broader Vantive Network


Continuous Improvement Projects

  • Explore opportunities to reduce transfers between warehouse through freight optimization, safety stock adjustments, and network re-mapping.

  • Liaison with supply chain and identify excess inventory in outlying DC’s and make recommendations to move product to other DC.

What You'll Bring:

  • CITT - Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP) or University Degree or College Diploma (Supply Chain, Administration, Finance,)

  • 3+ years’ experience in logistics and transportation

  • Intermediate to expert level of MS Excel

  • Strong computer skills, proficiency in JDE, Microsoft Office

  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and inquisitive skills

  • Strong organizational skills, demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to multi-task and prioritize

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, especially with 3PL partners

  • Ability to operate in complex, fast-paced environment with interdependencies spanning multiple work streams, teams, business divisions, time zones, culture and languages

  • Resourceful, able to find creative solutions to challenges. Identifies and resolves complex problems

  • Communication and presentation skills

  • Strong analytical and business problem-solving skills

Nice to Have:

  • 5 years experience in logistics and transportation

  • Prior experience in Inventory /Warehouse Management

  • Basic understanding of data import, manipulation, and file/report development

  • 3+ years’ experience in CPG or Pharma industry

  • 1+ year experience using JDE

  • Working knowledge in Tableau or PowerBI
