PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Come be a part of our growing company! We are looking for a candidate that loves traveling! As a Supervisor Rail Testing you will be working 2 weeks on the road and one week at home. You will work and travel in Alberta and BC (Edmonton to Coutts, Medicine Hat to Kingsgate, Kingsgate to Golden, Medicine hat to Vancouver). Your main priority is to inspect our track with the contracted Rail Flaw Detection equipment. You will then provide daily updates to your team on flaws that were detected. Commercial drivers license and previous railroad experience is an asset for this position.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Medical and Drug Testing
This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company drug test is required. Post hire qualification drug testing may also be required.
Background Investigation
As an employee with a North American presence, the possibility does exist that the location of your position may be changed based on organizational requirements.
Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Perform track protection and abide by all safety rules to ensure everyone goes home safe
- Lead job briefings, plan work for the day, ensure safety of crew
- Responsible for daily contact with the Roadmaster for collaborative ways to keep rail flaw detection equipment on schedule and hit production target
- Perform quality work ensure the safe passage of trains in compliance with the Red Book by issuing the appropriate protective slow orders
- High School Diploma or general equivalency required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to travel 100% of the time
- Required to be on call on a regular basis outside of normal business hours and workdays
