Reporting to the Sr Manager, Central Assortment & Space Planning, the SAP Assortment Specialist manages the accurate creation and maintenance of assortment data in SAP via Layout modules (an assortment vehicle in SAP), as-well as supporting parts of the Planogram process. The data-relationships on Layout Modules drive the authorizations of product in SAP & downstream to our stores ensuring accurate product availability, which is critical for smooth store operations and customer satisfaction.
In this position, you will work closely with the the Central assortment team, Category teams, Supply Chain, Space Planning, Floor Planning and other business partners ensuring that the assortment needs of the business are met, while also ensuring that established rules, standards & guardrails around Customer Focus, Store availability & Supply chain inventory are respected - often in time-sensitive situations.
You will need to develop a strong understanding of assortment taking ownership of the SAP assortment process, ensuring data integrity, and proactively identifying areas for improvement. In addition you will need to quickly understand the intricacies/interconnectedness of data between various systems including SAP, IPFR, BOSS as-well as Category/ Supply Chain processes, coupled with a very strong attention to detail. Great teamwork, interpersonal skills & strong excel skills along with the ability to interpret and connect dots quickly are also critical to this role. What You'll Do:
- Create, maintain & manage SAP Layout Modules (assortment vehicle in SAP) according to the standards set out by the Assortment team.
- Collaborate with Category, Live Assortment, Store specialists, Supply Chain and other stakeholders to understand assortment strategy and incorporate it into existing assortment structure, adhering to defined standards and ensuring store availability. This includes managing permanent assortment, seasonal assortment strategies, first-to-market assortment, temporary assortments, case pack changes, etc.
- Liaise with a variety of internal colleagues in Category, Live Assortment, Space Planning, Floor Planning, Data Operations, Merchandising, Supply Chain, as needed.
- Manage requests submitted via a Centralized mailbox and via an SAP workbench.
- Lead regular meetings with category teams to review assortment, focusing on in-store availability, data quality, accuracy, and completeness. Taking ownership of the SAP assortment process, ensuring data integrity and proactively identifying areas for improvement.
- Generate assortment integrity checks (AIC’s) and ensure resolution of issues before processing assortment changes, including processes tied to Planogram releases - Ensuring accurate assortment data to provide the best possible shopping experience for our customers, demonstrating care in every detail
- Maintain site to cluster/Layout Module assignments for assortment transitions (ex. Store Flips, Banner Conversions, Renovations)
- Communicate, prioritize, and resolve issues in a timely manner, and escalate as required.
- Support various Daily, Weekly or Monthly reporting requirements for the team.
- Support ad-hoc projects, and other activities as dictated by business needs.
- Support store Minimum Presentation inquiries/reviews.
- 1-3 Years working experience within an SAP environment
- Working knowledge of SAP Assortment, a definite asset
- Strong attention to detail is a must, as the role impacts store authorizations directly.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel (Vlookup, Pivottables a must, Macro’s a definite bonus)
- Microsoft Access experience a definite bonus.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with an ability to quickly connect dots. This will support effective decision making and problem solving which is integral to the role
- Strong communication skills required for communicating to a variety of groups and levels.
- Proven ability to respond to new situations and work in a constantly changing environment.
- Able to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
