Position Summary
Under the guidance and direction of the site foreperson or direct supervisor, the Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heaving equipment in an efficient, safe and appropriate manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life while supporting construction activities.

POSITION DETAILS
- Project located in Brooks, AB
- 5-month duration
- Assist in aligning pipes and performing related activities during oil and gas pipeline construction
- Operate a telehandler to move and lift pipe spools, load trailers, and transport other miscellaneous material throughout the site
- Assist other tradespeople with the completion of their duties when required
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment
- Identify and report hazards or unsafe work practices
- Participate in pre-job toolbox meetings to identify potential hazards and measures to eliminate or minimize them
- Ensure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment while performing tasks
Education
- Must have relevant operator tickets (e.g. skid steer, telehandler)
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Comfortable working outdoors
