The position of education consultant encompasses, in particular, responsibility for providing advice and support to staff and families of educational institutions and services in the implementation, development and evaluation of programs of study, class management and instructional materials.

Other Requirements
- Experience teaching students with diverse profiles, needs and abilities in elementary and high school
- Comprehensive knowledge of pedagogical strategies to support differentiated instruction and inclusive education
- Excellent knowledge of the Quebec Education Program (QEP), Special Needs Provincial and local policies
- Understanding of supports and services for children with special needs, as well as the roles and responsibilities of the different members of the school resource and support team
- Experience including students with special needs in regular classrooms, experience as a resource teacher an asset
- Understanding of the Trauma Informed Pedagogical Practices and evidence-based advances in numeracy and literacy
- Experience developing adapted and modified curriculum materials to support diverse learning profiles
- Experience using technology to support the learning of students with special needs
- Strong presentation skills and ability to lead professional development workshops
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Superior interpersonal skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Fluency in English and French

Daily Tasks/Dossiers
- Ability to provide advice and support to administration, teachers, and support staff either individually or in a group format in matters pertaining to their daily activities and outcomes;
- Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team to draw up and review the individualized education plan of a student with exceptionalities presenting with social maladjustments or learning difficulties;
- Ability to work with teachers and staff to prepare and implement strategies and projects aimed at helping students who are experiencing or are likely to experience social maladjustments or learning difficulties;
- Ability to develop or select and deliver evidence-based training and instrumentation activities designed to respond to needs in pedagogical adaptation, innovation, and development
- Ability to design and lead training workshops and sessions on program or curriculum components;
- Ability to help defuse crisis or emergency situations and to propose solutions;
- Ability to collaborate as an active and positive member of a multi-disciplinary resource team and of a professional network;
