Starting Salary: $145,000/annum

The Opportunity:

The Co-Processing Development Lead will be responsible for the expansion of coprocessing at the refinery. This position will lead early development of coprocessing expansion projects including development plans for the coprocessing 7 and beyond. This position will be responsible for developing a technical network and knowledge to help with troubleshooting of existing coprocessing bottlenecks and maximize current coprocessing rates.

Responsibilities:

Coprocessing 7 MBPD Phase 0 and 1 development:

  • Develop plans for the FCC coprocessing 7 MBPD expansion.
  • Prioritization of coprocessing debottlenecking efforts.
  • Plan test-runs to better understand current limits and future limits.
  • Technical network development to support coprocessing expansion.

Troubleshooting to maximize current coprocessing capacity:

  • Support technical and operations to work through coprocessing challenges.

Support CFR and LCFR:

  • Support government relations.
  • Support mass balance application.
  • Technical support government funding of projects.
  • Presenting to government and other public groups on coprocessing technology.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial)
  • 8+ years of experience in refinery process engineering.
  • Strong understanding of refining and prior experience in a refinery, oil & gas company, or consulting firm is highly desirable.
  • Experience in project development.
  • Experience in technology development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to optimize refinery economics.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage with senior management.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, finance, and commercial teams.
  • Knowledge of co processing, compliance landscape and plant economics.
  • Some project management experience.
  • Self-driven, motivated and be able to handle changing priorities.
