PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Manager of Fuel Efficiency Analytics plays a critical role in advancing fuel efficiency and sustainability at CPKC. This position is responsible for leveraging data-driven analytics to design, develop, and implement innovative processes and technology solutions that deliver measurable improvements in fuel conservation and operational efficiency. Additionally, the role will lead the development and execution of alternative fuel strategies, which are essential to achieving CPKC's 2030 ESG greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead development of Fuel Efficiency strategy and initiative development supported by Fuel Analytics
  • Communication with high level stakeholders through memos, reports, and presentations
  • Use of technology and CPKC analytics tools will be required to present compelling data for fuel efficiency initiatives
  • Direct engagement with operations to develop and implement fuel conservation initiatives with stakeholder engagement and alignment
  • Develop, maintain and act upon fuel initiative related reporting
  • Fuel Model development and ownership to support budgeting and fuel consumption forecasting
  • Monthly expense budget monitoring and specifically the $2M annual Fuel Conservation budget
  • Develop and maintain the Fuel Model to provide the forecast for the annual fuel budget
  • Energy management system deployment and enhancements
  • Vision development and team growth, 1 direct report

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in business, finance, supply chain, computer science, or related field
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ related experience in a business facing role that includes analysis, analytics, including some leadership or supervisory experience
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Valid passport with ability to travel to U.S./CAN without restrictions required

Management Conductor Program

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
