What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to prepare the biweekly processing of payroll, to ensure that weekly timesheets are properly completed and approved. The Payroll Specialist will balance the payroll against labor distribution amounts from timecards and expense reimbursements to confirm accuracy, corresponding with employees and manager to resolve any discrepancies.

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to prepare the biweekly processing of payroll, to ensure that weekly timesheets are properly completed and approved. The Payroll Specialist will balance the payroll against labor distribution amounts from timecards and expense reimbursements to confirm accuracy, corresponding with employees and manager to resolve any discrepancies.
Responsibilities
- Ensure payrolls are processed accurately and on time for all employees.
- Maintain and update payroll records including new hires, terminations, and changes in pay.
- Calculate final wage calculation, new hire initial paychecks, PTO/Leave payouts upon termination, per diem, bonuses, etc.
- Assist with processing 3rd party remittances and deductions.
- Reconcile government payroll data and ensure accurate application.
- Maintain data in preparation for payroll tax audits.
- Maintain and ensure accurate time entry and approval processing of timesheets in timekeeping software.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll statements and reports.
- Perform all tasks with consideration for regulations and requirements in that jurisdiction.
- Produce the bi-weekly payroll funding report.
- Assist with the preparation of yearend working papers for the annual financial statement audit relating to payroll.
- Accomplish special projects as assigned.
- Must have a minimum of a college level education with a focus in Finance, Business or Accounting (Degree in those fields would be preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and/or payroll experience.
- International payroll experience and knowledge would be preferred but not required.
- Experience with payroll audits, year-end processing, and Journal Entry preparation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of tax and deduction laws
- Experience with Payroll implementation would be considered an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail and meticulous record keeping.
- Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with colleagues
- Strong customer service skills for developing and maintaining effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage workloads.
- Proven ability to aggregate, analyze information and data for effective problem solving, and to utilize sound judgement.
- Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities.
- Enjoys a fast-paced environment, researching and continuous learning.
- $65,000 - $75,000 a year, depending on experience.
