The Role

As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Solink, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our business by identifying and generating new business opportunities. Your responsibilities will involve a variety of outreach and organizational tasks that help the Sales team increase velocity and revenue.

This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about tech, security, and the varying industries that we serve. What You’ll Do

  • Prospect Target Accounts: Identify and reach out to new customers—focusing on businesses with 100+ physical locations in key industries like Retail, Restaurants, and Convenience/Gas.
  • Qualify and Convert Leads: Conduct thoughtful discovery conversations to qualify inbound and outbound leads, ensuring they align with Solink’s ideal customer profile before handing off to Account Executives.
  • Respond with Urgency: Act as the first point of contact for inbound inquiries, providing timely, professional responses that spark interest and move conversations forward.
  • Drive Pipeline Growth: Consistently book qualified meetings with high-potential prospects to support Account Executives and accelerate the sales cycle.
  • Execute Proactive Outreach: Use cold calls, personalized emails, and social touches to generate new opportunities and introduce Solink to untapped accounts.
  • Leverage Sales Tech: Utilize tools like LinkedIn, Gong, Loom, ZoomInfo, and HubSpot to optimize your outreach and maintain meticulous records of all activity in the CRM.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with Account Executives to align on outreach strategy, share learnings from the field, and drive collective success.
  • Showcase Solink at Events: Represent Solink at trade shows and industry events—sparking conversations, building relationships, and generating leads face-to-face.

  • Business-Savvy Communicator: You hold a university degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field—or bring equivalent experience—and have strong communication and time management skills to match.

  • Executive-Level Conversationalist: You’re comfortable speaking with anyone, from small business owners to VPs and C-level executives at Fortune 1000 companies.

  • Prepared & Insightful: You do your homework. You research your prospects, tailor your messaging, and understand that relevance and preparation are key to successful outreach.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Proven experience in a sales or business development role
  • Experience in cold calling and/or hunting.
  • You have familiarity with CRM software (HubSpot preferred).

Security Requirements

  • Candidates must undergo a criminal records check upon hire;
  • Be a Canadian Citizen (dual citizens included), or eligible to work in Canada;
  • Be willing to comply with Solink’s own security policies and standards.
