Motel Supervisor

Job description

Oasis by the Bay Vacation Suites is a year-round, family-friendly motel located just steps from the world’s largest freshwater beach in beautiful Wasaga Beach, Ontario. With fully modernized suites and guest-focused amenities, we provide a welcoming and relaxing environment for families, couples, and groups. All proceeds from motel operations support E3 Community Services, a local non-profit dedicated to empowering individuals with developmental disabilities.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on, service-oriented Working Supervisor to lead daily motel operations, ensure excellent guest experiences, and supervise motel staff. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic hospitality environment, values community impact, and is committed to high standards of cleanliness, professionalism, and customer care.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision

  • Oversee daily motel operations and supervise motel staff
  • Coordinate staff scheduling, assign daily tasks, and monitor workflow
  • Train and onboard new and casual staff
  • Ensure adherence to policies and a culture of continuous improvement

Guest Services & Front Desk Operations

  • Greet and assist guests at check-in/check-out
  • Address guest concerns and ensure a welcoming atmosphere
  • Manage the reservation system, process payments, and maintain records
  • Communicate with service providers and guests effectively

Housekeeping & Facility Maintenance

  • Participate in and oversee housekeeping, laundry, and supply replenishment
  • Perform light maintenance, including minor repairs, snow/ice removal, and groundskeeping
  • Monitor facility safety equipment and report major repair needs

Administration

  • Maintain records of guest activity, maintenance, and staffing
  • Ensure compliance with WHMIS, OHSA, and internal policies
  • Support inventory tracking and supply ordering

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (post-secondary an asset)
  • Minimum 1 year experience in hospitality or facility supervision
  • Knowledge of front desk and housekeeping operations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; knowledge of Dayforce and ShareVision an asset
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
