Position Summary:
At Brightwater Senior Living, we believe that a well-maintained environment promotes health, safety, comfort, and a true sense of well-being for our tenants, visitors, and staff. We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to work alongside our Maintenance Manager, ensuring the highest standards of maintenance throughout our community – including the building exterior, interior, common areas, suites, and grounds.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ verifiable maintenance experience (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, etc.).

  • Proficient in the safe handling and operation of construction, maintenance, and landscaping tools (e.g., circular saw, power drill, bench grinder, paint sprayer, carpet cleaner, chain saw).

  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to maintain certifications as required by provincial regulations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain resident, employee, and community information with strict confidentiality.

  • Complete maintenance and annual service tasks for community buildings, interiors, exteriors, and equipment.

  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance in areas such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, landscaping, carpentry, and painting.

  • Conduct daily inspections of the property to address maintenance concerns promptly.

  • Assist tenants with maintenance requests (e.g., moving furniture, hanging pictures).

  • Support housekeeping with deep-cleaning projects for common areas as scheduled.

  • Safely store, inspect, and maintain maintenance equipment.

  • Monitor and restock supplies as needed.

  • Respond appropriately to community emergencies and participate in disaster response procedures.

  • Flexible schedule required.

Other Duties:

  • Uphold all community policies, procedures, and dress code requirements.

  • Provide excellent customer service and promote tenant advocacy.

  • Represent Brightwater Senior Living with professionalism in the broader community.

  • Attend required training and continuing education sessions.

  • Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to perform duties under time constraints and deadlines.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
