Job Description
LuminUltra is hiring a Director, Planning and Procurement to join our dynamic and growing Operations team in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
This is an excellent opportunity within an innovative and energetic organization. The Director, Planning and Procurement will be accountable for the full planning and procurement function, including Supply Chain/Demand Planning and Purchasing. This role will play a critical part in the operations team. From leading the supplier evaluation process, to determining planning and purchasing requirements, to evaluating the Supply Chain and Purchasing processes for continued improvement and optimization, this role offers comprehensive involvement across the entire supply chain lifecycle. This position offers an annual salary range of $75,000 to $90,000, depending on experience.

In this role, the Director, Planning and Procurement will have key responsibilities, such as:
Leadership:
- As a member of the Leadership team, evolve and promote corporate purpose, values, strategy, and initiatives.
- Promote excellence and accountability in all relationships between and amongst internal and external organizational stakeholders.
- Actively contribute to Business Excellence & continuous improvement efforts pertaining to Operations and the broader company.
Management:
- Manage, develop, and align functional team members to corporate and departmental objectives through clear and measurable individual objectives supported through routine and proactive engagement.
- With Sr. Director, Operations, own the creation of and adherence to departmental objectives, priorities, and forecasts on both an annual and a quarterly cadence.
- Actively contribute to the development of and adherence to LuminUltra's quality management and regulatory compliance standards.
- Work alongside the Business Excellence function to prioritize and support continuous improvement projects to ensure complete alignment of activities that will improve quality, reduce waste and drive organizational performance and efficiency.
- Actively contribute to objectives, priorities, budgets, and forecasts on both an annual and quarterly cadence.
Functional Responsibilities:
Supply/Demand Planning:
- Develop planning requirements following evaluation of historical activity and customer trends.
- Plan and implement supply chain optimization projects such as inventory level management, cost optimization and route planning.
- Regularly track KPIs and metrics and report on supply chain/purchasing performance.
- Create analysis reports to explain order flow trends, what may happen and why.
- Provide regular, detailed evaluation of inventory levels and historical materials flow in support of the Sales & Operations planning meeting (S&OP).
- Evaluate current processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
Purchasing:
- Develop purchasing requirements following evaluation of historical activity, inputs from Sales, and customer trends.
- Planning and overseeing the work of the Purchasing function
- Developing procurement rules and regulations
- Establishing guidelines on how often the company gets price quotes for items and which vendors to consider, discussing contracts, regular vendor evaluations.
- Evaluating quality, price, reliability, technical support and availability of goods and services for suppliers
- Plan and implement optimization projects such as inventory level management, cost optimization and country of origin planning.
- Regularly track KPIs and metrics and report on supply purchasing performance.
- Evaluate current processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team(s) to implement strategies to optimize inventory and supply chain best practices.
- Lead and develop the Supplier evaluation process
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Supply Chain, Logistics, demand planning or related field; or combination of relevant experience and education.
- 6-8 years of experience working in a purchasing, demand planning, or supply chain role.
- Proven experience leading, managing, and developing a team of people.
- High attention to detail, and a team player with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively.
- High sense of urgency and ability to work as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
- Process improvement experience is an asset.
- Proficiency with Oracle Fusion or similar MRP is an asset.
