Hours of Work: 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

$30.99 per hour (CUPE Maintenance 2 Salary Grid)

Reports to the Lead Supervisor of Infrastructure, Buildings & Plumbing

Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Including but not limited to installation and adjustment of metal/wood doors and door frames, repair/replacement of door hardware, locks, panic bars, closing devices and keying.
  • Understanding, knowledge and ability to perform master keying.
  • Understanding , knowledge and ability to perform loiding, picking, impressioning and drilling in relation to destructive and non-destructive lock out procedures.
  • To assume responsibility for workers assigned and for the work and equipment allocated.
  • To perform and complete work in one or more trades without close supervision and as efficiently and economically as possible.
  • To ensure quality of workmanship for all workers assigned.
  • To ensure all work is being performed with due regard to other Departments and public relations.
  • To assist the Supervisor of Maintenance when necessary or as directed.
  • To be responsible for time sheets, delivery slips, and all other similar correspondence connected specifically with the work assigned.
  • Estimates jobs.

Qualifications

  • Locksmiths certificate of completion from a recognized teaching facility or five (5) years recent relevant experience in a commercial/institutional setting performing locksmithing duties.
  • Solid ability in blueprint interpretation.
  • Satisfactory and reliable employment record.
  • Physically capable to perform moderate to heavy lifting.
  • Class G Driver's license.

Must be willing to work evenings and weekends with suitable prior notice
