Job Description
REPORTS TO: MANAGER
We are looking for Field Operators to join our team. Field Operators will work in teams of two to ensure effective data collection and safety in the field. Extensive travel across Nova Scotia is required. Accommodations, a vehicle, and all required equipment are provided. This role is crucial in collecting high-quality visual data of distribution poles across Nova Scotia. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in the field, passionate about technology, and eager to be part of a fast-growing team dedicated to innovation in utility inspection.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute consistent data collection across multiple sites, ensuring adherence to quality standards and protocols.
- Conduct site assessments and ensure safe operations in all field environments.
- Maintain equipment and perform basic troubleshooting as needed.
- Follow all safety guidelines and field procedures to ensure compliance with operational standards.
- Operate drone equipment to capture high-resolution imagery of utility poles and related infrastructure.
- Communicate effectively with the operations team to provide updates, report issues, and manage daily tasks.
- Operate a company-provided vehicle equipped with camera systems to collect street-level imagery.
- Adhere to assigned routes and schedules to ensure comprehensive data collection.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and vehicles to ensure optimal functionality.
- Upload collected data to the central database promptly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver's license with a clean record is required.
- Experience working in the field or in roles involving significant outdoor activities.
- Familiarity with drones or a willingness to learn.

- Drone pilot certification is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
- Comfortable working in a team of two and in diverse weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and a focus on producing consistent, high-quality results.
- Strong communication skills for customer interactions
- Comfortable with technology and able to operate specialized equipment.
- Ability to perform extensive walking over various terrains for extended periods.
