Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About The Team

Sitting within the Product Marketing organization at Stripe, the Startup marketing team is a champion for Startups. We focus on 3 main areas: 1) deeply understanding our users and the markets and industries in which they operate 2) owning startup segment marketing including positioning, messaging, marketing strategies, campaign content, and sales enablement 3) deeply understanding the health of the segment and drive business metrics reviews with XFN stakeholders.

Different from many other Product Marketing teams, our team works across the entire product lifecycle, from helping shape the product, to driving launch and commercialization, to growing product adoption post-launch.

We are looking for an experienced startup program and community leader to lead Stripe Startups, our main program for delivering valuable content, community experience and special benefits to startup users. The leader in this role will shape the program roadmap, drive performance, and grow adoption for our products through the vector of the Stripe Startups program.

What you’ll do

We're looking for a product-minded program and community leader with a passion for startups to lead the Stripe Startups program, Stripe’s recently launched, by-application program for early-stage, venture-backed companies. In this role, you'll own the end-to-end program strategy and execution to help ambitious founders succeed with Stripe. This is a senior individual contributor role with a high degree of visibility among users in our startup segment, and among our cross-functional startup team. You’ll help to associate Stripe with the world’s fastest-growing startups through our Stripe Startups community.

Though the program is already launched, Stripe Startups is in its early innings. You will be responsible for building our online community and content strategy to support startup operators along their product adoption journey. You will lead the acquisition plan to acquire new program members and drive engagement amongst members and amongst relevant Stripes. You'll also be responsible for the evolution of the program including global launches, new benefits, the onboarding and engagement product experience, and more.

Responsibilities

Own the “Stripe Startups” program experience:

  • Partner with our product team to create exceptional in-product experiences through the onboarding, activation, and deeper program and product adoption journey.
  • Create and manage an engaging, ongoing content calendar, community hub, and communication cadence, educational content that surfaces the relevant product ships and wins from within the community, and event invitations.

Lead Community & Events

  • Plan and execute impactful events (in-person and online) for Stripe Startups, from kickoffs to demo days, ensuring alignment with program goals. (Some travel will be required to our startup hubs globally)
  • Moderate a vibrant startup community and facilitate knowledge sharing among members.
  • Work with Startup Partner teams to activate the program globally within the VC, accelerator, and incubator ecosystem that they manage; and with global startup field marketing teams to deliver local events, identifying opportunities for Startup program participants at Stripe-led and third-party events.

Manage Program Operations And Growth

  • Manage program operations, including the application process and benefits administration
  • Manage the relationship with our vendors team, maintain communications with them, manage training them on updates.
  • Manage program timelines, deadlines, and deliverables to keep all initiatives on track and successfully executed.
  • Collaborate with product managers and Startup PMM to translate product launches into actionable insights for startups.

Enable And Educate

  • Enable sales teams and marketing teams to understand the value of the startup program.
  • Monitor and report on data and program performance, and use this data to optimize program adoption and founder success.

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum Requirements

  • Have a founder-centric mindset, with a deep understanding of founder psychology and challenges, and experience working directly with early-stage companies
  • Have community-building expertise, building founder networks, facilitating knowledge-sharing
  • 7+ years of marketing-related experience, with proven success in programs driving customer acquisition, satisfaction, and pipeline generation
  • Deep understanding of the startup ecosystem and founder challenges at different growth stages
  • Experience working in global marketing, collaborating with geographically distributed teams across multiple regions
  • Proficiency with both digital and in-person marketing tactics, with expertise in community building
  • Track record of successful collaboration with partnership teams, including joint planning, execution, metrics monitoring, and earning trust as a strategic partner
  • Planning and executing impactful events from kickoffs to demo days
  • Ability to travel, as required, to host regional startup events

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience ideating, launching, and leading programs specifically for early-stage founders at venture funds, accelerators, or founder communities
  • Exceptional organization and project management skills with ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a "test & learn" mindset
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to influence across organizational boundaries
  • Advanced analytical capabilities to derive actionable insights from complex data
  • Established network within the global startup community
  • Understanding of the unique challenges faced by technical founders and developer-focused startups
  • Experience creating and delivering content or programming that resonates with early-stage builders

Hybrid work at Stripe

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

Pay and benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $138,500 - $207,800. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
