We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled **Senior System Administrator** to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong technical expertise, and the ability to lead IT projects and mentor junior team members. The Senior System Administrator will also be responsible for capacity planning, implementing new technologies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networks, and related infrastructure, ensuring system integrity and optimal performance.
  • Security Management: Implement and manage security protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, multi-factor authentication, and conduct regular security audits to safeguard the organization’s IT infrastructure from cyber threats.
  • Network Administration: Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure efficient data flow across the organization while managing VPNs, VLANs, and wireless network configurations.
  • Cloud & Virtualization Management: Maintain and optimize cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.), ensuring scalability and security.
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans to protect against data loss and ensure minimal downtime during outages.
  • User Support & Troubleshooting: Provide advanced technical support to internal teams, resolve complex system-related issues, and assist in troubleshooting escalated IT tickets.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop and deploy automation scripts and tools (PowerShell, Python, Bash) to streamline system management tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Software & Patch Management: Ensure timely updates and patches for operating systems, applications, and enterprise software while minimizing downtime.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Maintain comprehensive system documentation, ensure adherence to industry standards (ISO 27001, NIST, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.), and assist in compliance audits.
  • Project Management: Lead IT infrastructure projects, coordinate with third-party vendors, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and optimize system performance.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Utilize monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Splunk, etc.) to track system health and generate reports on performance, security, and capacity planning.
  • Mentorship & Training: Train and mentor junior system administrators, providing guidance on best practices and troubleshooting methodologies.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • **7+ years** of experience in system administration, preferably in an enterprise environment.
  • E xpertise in Windows and Linux operating systems, including server administration and automation.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.), and security best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud deployments.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automation.
  • Experience with database administration (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management solutions (Okta, LDAP, IAM).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with experience leading projects and mentoring team members.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, CISSP) are a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and service management best practices.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with enterprise backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, etc.).
  • Proficiency with endpoint security, SIEM solutions, and compliance management tools.
