About The Role

Reporting to the Director, Business Architecture, we are looking for an experienced Senior Business Architect to complement our Everyday Financial Services (EFS) Business Architecture team. This team member will be responsible for helping to strategically build and manage our business architecture team for the Everyday Financial Services (EFS) business unit. They will partner with our internal and external SMEs to work collaboratively across the enterprise to ensure strategic alignment and serve as the bridge between multiple stakeholders to represent EFS priorities while identifying financial benefits. This role will be critical to identify and prioritize business capabilities required to enable our business strategy.

This role can be either hybrid or remote. If you live in Alberta, you’ll work both remote and onsite from an ATB corporate office, where time onsite is based on your job accountabilities and performance objectives. If you live outside of Alberta, you’ll work fully remote with occasional travel to ATB corporate locations in Alberta.

Accountabilities

Champion Business Architecture for EFS strategy: Act as a senior leader, championing Business Architecture and its Center of Excellence at ATB, and understanding business implications of current and future trends to drive purposeful innovation.

Align to and deliver on the EFS strategy: Create a 3-5 year roadmap of Business Capabilities for EFS, foster collaboration with CXT(Client Experience & Technology) partners ensuring alignment and understanding of EFS needs, and work with Technology Architects to guide solutions.

Manage Value Streams and requirements: Identify, create, and support Value Streams that drive EFS business metrics, develop high-level business case benefits for prioritization, and provide strategic requirements to business analysts for roadmap capabilities.

Build relationships and improve EFS processes: Develop and nurture relationships across business units, partners, and external vendors; evolve the EFS in-take process for continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement, and support the in-take process to ensure alignment with business architecture and strategy.

  • Expert knowledge of Business Architecture principles and application

Project And Initiative Management

  • Ability to manage and coordinate business architecture initiatives through all phases
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams for initiative delivery
  • Assess and measure progress against deliverables, schedules, and KPIs
  • Expertise in strategic planning, project framing, and business case development
  • Work plan development, tracking, and milestone management

Process Design And Automation

  • Business Process Management expertise to identify improvement and automation opportunities

Interpersonal And Leadership Skills

  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Ability to communicate vision to leadership using storytelling
  • Ability to prioritize and manage expectations

Data And Analytics

  • Experience with data reporting, visualization, and dashboarding
  • Proficiency in descriptive and diagnostic analytics

Education And Experience

  • Deep understanding of Business Architecture methodologies and concepts
  • 5+ years of experience applying business architecture practices in strategic initiatives
  • Certification in a business architecture standard (asset)
  • Experience with Enterprise Architecture tools like Archimate (asset)
  • Experience in the Financial Industry (asset)
