Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of the Construction and Demolition Environmental Management Plans.
  • Track compliance with applicable best management practices, Permit conditions, Environmental Work Plans, Environmental Management Plans, and site-specific plans.
  • Have fundamental awareness of Provincial and Federal environmental regulations (e.g., Fisheries Act, Water Sustainability Act, Environmental Assessment Act, etc.).
  • Coordinate environmental design and construction input between various disciplines.
  • Assist the project team in developing Environmental Work Plans and Environmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Prepare and review reporting associated with environmental compliance (e.g., Weekly Environmental Reports, Monthly Environmental Reports, etc.).
  • Support the development and implementation of an environmental training and awareness training program.
  • Manage data collection, storage and analysis.
  • Assist with environmental incident investigations in accordance with incident reporting procedures.
  • Support with field work, including environmental monitoring, and data collection.
  • Coordinate environmental specialists in performing their work, including scheduling and tracking of deliverables.
  • Liaise on a day-to-day basis with project supervisors and foremen.
  • Support the coordination of environmental components of the Project Turnover Package.

What You Bring to the Team:
  • B.Sc. in Environmental Science or equivalent academic background.
  • 5+ years’ experience on projects of similar size/scope.
  • A Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) designation is required.
  • Environmental designation such as professional biologist; applied technologist; agrologist in addition to holding a Qualified Environmetnal Professional (QEP) designation.
  • Demonstrated environmental monitoring experience for marine and upland construction projects.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong data organization and technical reporting skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage time with multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to work outside in various weather and terrain conditions.
  • Proficiency with computer programs for managing and communicating environmental data.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Valid BC driver’s license.

Salary - $85,000 - $100,000 per annum
