About The Role
We are seeking a Vice President of Learning and Development to join our Human Resources team in a highly strategic role. The Vice President will lead a national team that defines, designs, and deploys cutting-edge leadership development programs across the company for all management levels, from first-line managers to senior executives. It will also include technical skills programs. This role will be responsible for setting the vision for the company's skills development initiatives, leveraging our reputation for delivering high-quality, internally developed training programs that are both innovative and scientifically grounded.

What You'll Do Here
Leadership Development and Vision for Skills Development:
- Lead a national team that defines, designs, and deploys comprehensive and innovative leadership development programs for all management levels within the organization, from first-line managers to senior executives.
- Develop and articulate a clear and compelling vision for the company's skills development initiatives, emphasizing innovation and our distinctive, high-quality training capabilities.
- Ensure these programs and vision are aligned with the strategic goals of the company and support the growth and development of leadership capabilities.
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of learning and development initiatives, ensuring they are innovative, forward-thinking and learner centric.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and other L&D teams within the business to identify key skill gaps and develop innovative strategies to address them.
- Establish metrics and evaluation processes to measure the effectiveness and the organizational impact of learning and development programs.
- Continuously assess and improve these programs based on feedback and changing business needs, fostering a culture of continuous innovation.
- Leverage existing and innovative technologies (Virtual and Augmented Reality) to design and deploy training programs that increase the integration of knowledge and skills as well as speed up their delivery and increase the overall learner’s experience.
- Integrate AI as an integral part of workforce education by making L&D development faster, less expansive and more agile all the while enabling personalized learning solutions, optimize cost savings and adjust roles and responsibilities within L&D.
- Work closely with the Vice Presidents of Human Resources from various business units to ensure alignment and integration of learning and development initiatives.
- Share best practices and develop cohesive strategies to address the unique needs of each business unit.
- Manage the budget for learning and development programs, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
- Identify and secure external partnerships and resources, including universities and specialized consulting firms, to enhance learning and development offerings.
- Develop sustainable partnerships while balancing internally developed content with the use of external expertise, ensuring that our training programs remain a key differentiator.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in learning and development, with significant leadership experience.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing leadership development programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Strategic thinker with a strong ability to execute and drive results.
- Innovative mindset and ability to bring new ideas to improve existing processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to measure and assess the impact of learning and development initiatives.
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
