We are seeking a qualified, dedicated, and compassionate Student Educational Assistant to support neurodiverse students functioning at various grade levels, particularily in the middle school years. The successful candidate will work in classrooms, small groups, and one-on-one settings. Experience and training in inclusive education is highly desirable. This role requires a solid work ethic, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to assist with learning across all school subjects (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Career Education, PE, Fine Arts, and Applied Design, Skills, and Technology). The candidate must be committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for all students.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to student needs.
  • Support students in their learning by providing one-on-one or small group instruction.
  • Read to students, scribe when necessary , and support the use of technology in learning.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and contribute to a positive learning environment.
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents to promote understanding of educational goals.
  • Assist with the preparation of instructional materials and and help maintain an organized and engaging classroom environment.
  • Provide support for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Monitor student progress and record/share observations with teachers.
  • Participate in outdoor supervision duties with other staff members.
  • Be willing to support school clubs and extracurricular actvities.

Skills:

  • Certification as an Educational Assistant or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience working with neurodiverse children/teens in an educational setting.
  • A solid understanding of educational curriculum and core competencies.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education strategies to support diverse learners.
  • Strong computer and media skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children thrive academically and socially.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
