Position Summary
Part-Time Administrative, replacement position (Immediate need to April 30, 2026)
The Part-Time Head Coach, Men’s Volleyball, is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the technical, tactical, and physical components of the Men’s Volleyball program at Conestoga. This program will prepare the student athletes for successful competition within the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA).
The competitive season begins in September and runs through March, culminating in the Ontario Championships in late February and the National Championships in March. The team practices multiple times per week and participates in a seasonal high-performance training program. Competitions are held both on-site for home games and off-site for away games. During the off-season, from May to August, the team continues training once a week to maintain fitness and skill levels. The program is supported by a dedicated team that includes Assistant Coaches and an Athletic Therapist, who are present at practices and games to ensure athlete preparation and well-being.
Successful candidates will be required to conduct work on-site three to five days per week at the Doon campus, located at 299 Doon Valley Dr. in Kitchener. Hours of work are evening, weekend and periodic weekday daytime hours. Travel will be required for matches and team activities off-site.

- Develop and implement a comprehensive program for Men’s Volleyball, including training, practices, games, and athlete development
- Ensure alignment of program goals with the mission, vision and values of the Athletics department
- Plan and deliver high-quality practices, meetings, video analysis sessions, and regular athletic check-ins
- Foster an inclusive, supportive and holistic environment for student-athlete growth and well-being
- Monitor academic progress and student behaviour, ensuring adherence to college and team expectations
- Identify and recruit academically strong and athletically talented student-athletes
- Collaborate with the Athletics department to design and execute a multi-year recruitment strategy
- Support and participate in recruitment events to raise the profile of the program
- Build and maintain relationships with alumni, community partners, and potential donors to enhance program visibility and support
- Maintain effective communication and administrative systems among coaches, athletes and Athletic and Facility staff
- Ensure compliance with the OCAA and Conestoga policies and procedures
- Organize and lead team participation in competitions, tournaments, clinics, and other activities
- Coordinate logistics for travel, equipment, and facility use as needed
- Two-year diploma in Sport Management, Sport and Event Marketing, Recreation and Leisure, Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport Business, Business, Fitness and Health Promotion, or a related field of study
- A minimum of National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Development Coach certification is preferred, and an Advanced Development Coach is considered an asset
- Minimum three years of experience coaching athletes over the age of 16
- Four years of experience coaching at the collegiate level is considered an asset
- Strong association with local club systems and high schools is considered an asset
- Demonstrated commitment to the student-athlete experience
- Uphold high ethical standards and model good character
- Committed to fair play and representing Conestoga with professionalism
- Demonstrated knowledge and implementation of student-athlete recruitment strategies
- Ability to develop and maintain a competitive program aligned with academic excellence
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership and administrative capabilities
- Motivational and team-building skills to foster a positive team culture
- Completion of a satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required
- Access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel to multiple campuses and off-site events
