- case manage 7 divisions in a comprehensive model of support -support low and high incidence students with designations -support students with H and R behaviour designations -provide small group literacy support during "Literacy at Lunch"

- A valid BC Teaching Certificate
- Commitment to support the full range of student abilities
- Effective communication skills with students, parents and colleagues
- Commitment to continuing professional development
- Successful experience with adapting and modifying materials for a diversity of learners
- Working knowledge of using computing technology to support learning
- A commitment to the Principles of Inclusive Schools and Principles of Learning
- Bachelor of Education (Middle)
- Post-Graduate Diploma or Master’s Degree in Special Education including University course work in the following (or equivalent) courses:
- Student Exceptionality
- Assessment for Special Education
- Collaboration and Consultation in Special Education
- Behavioural, Social and Emotional Needs
- Assistive Technology
- Teaching Students with Developmental Difficulties
- Differentiating Instruction/Inclusive Classrooms
- Advanced Assessment and Intervention
- Development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Five years of demonstrated successful classroom/Instructional Support teacher experience
- Demonstrated use of highly successful instructional strategies in the classroom for Middle school age students
- Ability to work closely as a member of a team
- Effective communication skills, demonstrated through positive relationships with students, staff and parents
