The Opportunity
As Purchaser, you will take full ownership of the full procurement process, from sourcing quality materials, managing supplier relationships to ensuring inventory flow meets project demands. This is an opportunity to lead strategic procurement initiatives, align purchasing strategies with business objectives and identify areas for cost savings and process improvements. As you work closely with engineering, production, and finance teams, your goal is to always ensure purchasing strategies support project timelines and business targets. Key Responsibilities
As the Purchaser, you will work collaboratively and are responsible for:
Purchasing & Inventory Management
- Analyze material drawings to determine material needs, ensuring alignment with project timelines.
- Prepare and verify purchase orders, confirming specifications, pricing, and delivery terms to meet production demands.
- Monitor inventory levels, coordinate with warehouse personnel, and schedule timely deliveries.
- Verify receipt of goods against purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
Supplier Relations & Negotiations
- Identify and assess potential suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery conditions to secure favorable agreements that align with company objectives.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve any shipment errors, delays or quality concerns while maintaining positive relationships.
Process Improvement & Strategy
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that support organizational goals, with a focus on cost savings, efficiency and supply chain optimization.
- Identify inefficiencies in procurement processes by leveraging technology, automation and industry best practices to enhance workflow.
- Maintain detailed and accurate procurement documentation, upholding compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
As the Purchaser, you will bring:
- Minimum 5+ years experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles, including inventory control, demand forecasting, and logistics coordination.
- Strong proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office and ERP software.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess market trends, evaluate supplier performance, and resolve procurement challenges effectively.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal relationships to support operational success.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills, initiative, and the ability to negotiate effectively to achieve operational and financial objectives.
- Proven ability to prioritize, problem-solve and manage competing demands effectively in a high-volume environment.
- Demonstrates continuous learning, adaptability, customer focus, and strong team collaboration.
