Marketing Coordinator
CKUA Radio

About the Role
CKUA is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Marketing Coordinator to join our dynamic marketing team. This is a chance to help shape how stories about music, arts, and culture are shared across Alberta — and to connect with a passionate, diverse audience.
Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Manager, you will apply both creative skill and technical knowledge to develop and share digital, social, and web content. The role also involves coordinating the distribution of that content, ensuring it is timely, engaging, and aligned with CKUA’s brand and mission as a community-focused, donor-supported organization.
This position also works closely with colleagues across departments and will contribute to campaigns that support CKUA’s audience engagement and financial sustainability. This role is well-suited to someone who enjoys collaboration, thrives in an ever-evolving arts and media landscape, and approaches their work with curiosity and creativity.
How you’ll make an impact
The Marketing Coordinator will help shape and share CKUA’s brand story across multiple channels, ensuring a consistent and authentic voice that reflects the organization’s values. This includes developing content for digital platforms, creating graphics, writing compelling copy, and supporting video and photography needs.
The role also involves collaborating with internal teams and community partners to collect creative assets and ideas and using those resources to develop content that connects with audiences. Whether engaging directly with users on social media, sharing real-time updates from events, or contributing to marketing and sponsorship plans, the Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in building relationships and expanding the reach of CKUA’s programming.
Being proactive is essential — whether anticipating opportunities, staying current on arts and culture news in Alberta and beyond, or offering creative solutions to marketing challenges. This is a hands-on role that blends creativity and execution in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
What You Bring
You are someone who builds positive, respectful relationships and approaches your work in a way that reflects CKUA’s values of Community, Diversity, Inclusion, Creativity, Curiosity, and Authenticity. You take pride in creating content that tells a story, connects with people, and inspires action — whether through social media, digital campaigns, or printed materials.
You are curious and resourceful, always looking for new ideas and creative ways to engage with audiences. You understand how to translate an organization’s brand voice into a variety of content types, and you are comfortable balancing creativity with the strategic goals of marketing and fundraising.
Your writing and editing skills are strong, and you bring a thoughtful, inclusive lens to all of your communication. You have experience using platforms such as Canva, Mailchimp, Hootsuite, and WordPress, and you are comfortable working with Google and social media analytics to inform decisions. Experience with photography, video editing, or design software (including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or iMovie) are considered assets.
Your background may include a degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field, along with at least two to three years of relevant experience. We also welcome candidates whose lived or professional experience provides a strong foundation for the role, with or without formal education in these areas.
Above all, you are someone who values collaboration, creativity, and community — and who is ready to contribute meaningfully to CKUA’s mission.
