CTS Instructor: Cosmetology Program - Permanent - Full Time

Under the direction and supervision of the Principal and the guidance of a teacher, the CTS Instructor provides educational/business instruction to students within a specified Division CTS Program. The CTS Instructor is a self-managing, life-long learner who is committed to working with others to optimize student learning.

This position is a CTS Career Pathway Program for Grades 10 - 12 at Foothills Composite High School and this role will be responsible for overseeing the Cosmetology Program.

This positions follows the school calendar and works approximately 35 hours each week.

Duties include:

• Assist the teacher in designing and implementing individualized and group programs to meet the varied learning needs of each student within a supportive learning environment.

• In collaboration with the teacher, maintain ongoing student assessment records.

• Under the supervision of the teacher, provide formative feedback to students.

• Order, prepare and organize program materials and resources according to curriculum and industry standards; maintain resources, as required.

• In collaboration with the teacher, prepare financial records and deposits on a regular basis.

• Perform other related duties, as required.

Successful candidates should hold a journeyperson Hairstylist or Cosmetology certification. Being currently or recently employed within the cosmetology industry is preferred. Must be willing to work directly with students and supporting their progress and success. Excellent communication skills is essential.
