Are you a detail-oriented administrative professional with a passion for people and process? Autism Nova Scotia is seeking a Human Resources Clerk for an 8-week seasonal position starting June 23rd to support the daily operations of our HR department. About the Role
The Human Resources Clerk plays an essential role in maintaining smooth HR operations, supporting hiring processes, and organizing key documentation. This role will also involve interaction with candidates, staff, and volunteers, as well as occasional reception support. The successful candidate will bring strong administrative skills, adaptability, and a respectful approach when working with individuals with disabilities, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Key Responsibilities
Assist with vetting candidates, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, and gathering hiring documentation
Maintain HR filing systems and databases for paid staff and volunteers
Assist in identifying professional development opportunities for staff
Manage electronic employee records and filing systems
Support internal HR communications and the distribution of documentation
Provide administrative support including answering phones, updating spreadsheets, and preparing correspondence
Provide occasional coverage at reception as needed
Perform other clerical duties as required
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Previous experience in an administrative or clerical role (experience in HR is an asset)
Sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, specifically individuals with Autism

Working Conditions
Hybrid work environment (combination of in-office and remote work)
Occasional support at reception may be required
Confidentiality and discretion are essential in this role
