Fugro is currently seeking opportunities to set-up and grow its site characterization business in Canada. As part of this strategic move the Sales Manager will play a pioneering role to bring awareness and define the business road map

The Sales Manager for Land business in Canada will be responsible for assessing market potential, understanding the geotechnical environment, and developing strong relationships with A&E firms, contractors, and asset owners. This role will drive business growth in Canada across Fugro's service lines, including site characterization (onshore and nearshore), consulting, and testing and monitoring, as well as explore opportunities for Fugro’s Global business programs, such as Ground IQ.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk
  • Evaluate the geotechnical market potential in Canada, identifying opportunities for growth and expansion
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with A&E firms, contractors, and asset owners to foster long-term partnerships. Attend industry events, conferences and other relevant networking opportunities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across Fugro's geotechnical service lines
  • Lead the preparation of proposals, ensuring competitive pricing and solutions-oriented approaches to client challenges
  • Work closely with Fugro’s service lines and the regional Strategic Sales and Marketing team, interacting frequently with peers across North America
  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored geotechnical solutions
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy to grow the site characterization business in Canada. Identify assets and infrastructure needed, map the needs to ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial targets for the site characterization business in Canada and the yearly profit plan
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, managing all aspects of business development for the geotechnical market in Canada
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Authorized to work in Canada, without restrictions
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the geotechnical engineering industry, preferably across field operations, design, and consulting activities
  • Eligible to PE qualification in Ontario and/or Quebec is preferred
  • Sales and/or business development experience
  • Prior business build experience is an asset
  • Willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally, as needed
  • Strategic vision for Fugro within the geotechnical industry sector in Canada, combining growth and financial return
  • Positive and growth mindset with a focus on industry-leading stakeholder returns and customer satisfaction
  • Proven capability for building strong, repeat business long-term relationships
  • Strong proposal management skills, including pricing and solutions-oriented approaches
  • Outgoing and confident communicator with excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Good organizational and project management skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent team working skills
  • Commitment to the highest standards of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Performance
  • Passion for self-learning and development, including publication of papers and presentations at conferences
  • Travel up to 50% for this job opportunity
