This role combines deep technical expertise with strong business acumen and requires fluency in both Spanish and English. The incumbent will lead cross-functional teams in the design, implementation, and support of scalable SaaS platforms, while also ensuring effective financial planning, performance tracking, and governance of technology initiatives. Purpose

Accountabilities
- Delivers large and complex technology related strategic initiatives, programs, and projects across International Banking, ensuring these are implemented on time and within budget.
- Visualize data in a way that allows a business to quickly draw conclusions and make decisions.
- Oversee the end-to-end design, development, implementation, and support of SaaS solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs and organizational technology standards.
- This role also involves managing strategic relationships with key solution vendors, ensuring service quality, platform evolution, and compliance with contractual agreements and service level expectations (SLAs), in close collaboration with procurement, architecture, and security teams.
- It involves proactively identifying and communicating key project risks along with mitigation strategies to ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery of strategic initiatives. The incumbent will manage the full delivery process, developing integrated project plans that encompass business, technology, and operational components, while maintaining a clear critical path to support iterative delivery, continuous integration and deployment, and rapid feedback loops in alignment with our Agile and DevOps best practices.
- Lead and manage the team assigned for planning, tracking, and reporting of the technology portfolio in IB Engineering, ensuring transparency, prioritization, and alignment with strategic objectives and complying with IT Risk KRIs.
- Proactively identifies key issues and risks that could potentially impact project objectives and contributes to the development and creation of alternative creative solutions to mitigate them in a satisfactory, timely and cost-effective manner
- Sustains highly motivated groups with diverse and multifunctional reporting units, including external parties.
- This includes consistently maintaining the momentum of the project or program in the background of changing and occasionally conflicting priorities
- Communicates ongoing project status, completing monthly Project Status Reports and escalating issues to his/her immediate supervisor, the Business Sponsor, IT&S Sponsor, the Head or VP as required. Ensures the documentation and archiving of project activities, deliverables, tools and finders for use in future projects.
- Build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring effective communication and alignment.
- Identify and implement improvements in engineering practices, delivery processes, and internal operations to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 5 – 8 years’ experience in Engineering and financial services industry, managing projects that have significant technology components
- Experience in Cloud & SaaS Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge in Jira, Confluence and any other Atlassian Products
- Proven experience in Agile and DevOps environments.
