Convergint is currently recruiting for an Overhead Crane Technician (Service & Maintenance) to join our team in Fort McMurray, AB.

The normal shift schedule consists of 7 consecutive days of work followed by 7 days off. Local accommodation will be provided in Fort McMurray for duration of your shift.

Main Job Responsibilities

  • Perform safety inspections, repairs and maintenance on overhead cranes and hoists.
  • Respond to requests for services/maintenance notifications from the occupants of the offices and shops in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Use SAP as required based on customer needs.
  • Respond to emergency requirements; must carry a cellular or two-way radio. Available for emergency call out duty during after hours and on weekends at the Supervisors discretion.
  • Adhere to provincial OH&S, Convergint safety policies/procedures and operate equipment and systems in a safe, efficient manner at all times.
  • Liaise with the Safety Coordinator ensuring that colleagues follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Attend and support safety meetings as scheduled by the Safety Coordinator.
  • Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.

Required Education, Skills And Qualifications

  • Must have at least 10,000 hours relevant overhead crane experience
  • Journeyperson Electrician preferred (Millwright certification may be considered)
  • IRATA Level 3 Certification is a significant asset
  • Must be comfortable working at heights over 120ft (ladders, scaffolds and lifts)
  • Experience with power tools is required
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must possess strong customer skills and work ethic: Honest and dedicated to customer satisfaction, reliable, dependable and professional
  • Valid drivers license with clean abstract is essential
  • Must be legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada (for example, by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or work permit)
