We're looking for a driven Data Science Co-op to join our team! In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience leveraging data and machine learning to understand player behaviour, improve game experiences, and streamline company workflows. You'll collaborate closely with our experienced data science team, receive mentorship and make a real impact by applying data science in a production environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the insights that bring our games to life.

In this role, you can expect to be involved in:
- Opportunity Exploration: Assist in identifying potential areas where data science and machine learning can enhance our products and operations
- Data Extraction & Exploration: Query our databases to extract relevant game data and assist with exploratory data analysis, hypothesis testing, and feature engineering
- Model Development Support: Support the development and evaluation of machine learning models aimed at improving in-game features and key product metrics
- Communication & Collaboration: Learn to communicate project goals, progress, and preliminary outcomes to various stakeholders, including production, design, and engineering teams
- Research & Learning: Gain exposure to various data science methodologies including statistical analysis, A/B testing, and machine learning techniques
- Tool Proficiency: Develop proficiency in using data analysis and programming tools commonly used in data science
- Project Support: Assist in setting up and preparing data science projects and contribute to data collection efforts
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a similar program
- Basic understanding of statistical concepts and data analysis methods, including descriptive statistics and A/B testing
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts (e.g. regression/classification, overfitting/regularization, hyperparameter tuning)
- Familiarity with python and relevant libraries (e.g. numpy, pandas, scikit-learn)
- Basic SQL skills (e.g. joining, grouping, filtering)
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects concurrently
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- A passion for games and understanding player behaviour
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Matplotlib, Tableau)
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)
