St. Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting a Full Time, Probationary, Health Recovery Facilitator – LPN for a work assignment with Student Services.

Hours of Work : 31.25 hrs. /week; 6.25 hrs. /day; Monday-Friday; Full Time Probationary

Hourly Rate: $35.97 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement

Specific Needs/Requirements for this position:

• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Completion of Pediatric Course through AHS Homecare preferred
• Ability to perform tracheal suction and ongoing respiratory assessment preferred
• Experience and knowledge in supporting students with a seizure disorder an asset
• Comfortable and experienced in using AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) systems
• Ability to support assistive technology usage an asset
• Experience using visual aids an asset
• Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team an asset
• Assist student with g-tube feeding and medication administration, toileting and physical tasks (lifting and transferring) an asset
• Experience working with elementary students with various diverse needs an asset
• Knowledge and experience administering medication to children preferred
• Experience with use of oxygen tank and concentrator an asset
• Experience working with children who have Diabetes; measuring and administering Insulin is preferred
• Previous experience working with students with complex medical and cognitive disorders an asset
• Experience working in pediatrics is ideal
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in pediatric settings
