Position Summary:
Reporting to the President & CEO, the Vice President, Finance and Facilities is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), responsible for the strategic leadership and operational oversight of finance, facilities management and procurement. The successful candidate will oversee and play a critical role in supporting the organization’s mission by ensuring financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and the effective use of physical assets across all sites. The Vice President, Finance and Facilities will lead a high-performing team to manage budgeting, financial reporting, procurement, and facilities planning and maintenance.

The Vice President, Finance and Facilities will lead a high-performing team to manage budgeting, financial reporting, procurement, and facilities planning and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic financial advice and support to the President & CEO and SLT on financial and facilities related matters.
- Lead long-term financial planning, including forecasting, modeling, and analysis aligned with the organization’s strategic goals.
- Oversee the development and execution of capital and operational budgets.
- Lead and manage all financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, reporting, and audits.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, funding agreements, and legislative requirements.
- Oversee financial reporting to the Board of Directors, funders, and external stakeholders.
- Manage cash flow, investments, and financial risk.
- Ensure transparent and efficient procurement practices aligned with relevant policies and trade agreements.
- Negotiate and manage service contracts and vendor relationships.
- Oversee facility planning, including renovations, space utilization, and preventative maintenance programs and ensure the physical assets of all ErinaoakKids facilities are protected and well maintained.
- Develop and monitor risk management strategies, policies, and frameworks that support ongoing succession planning efforts to meet the current and future financial needs of ErinoakKids.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Must possess a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and a university degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive senior leadership experience in financial management, preferably in the broader public sector, healthcare, or not-for-profit environment.
- Previous experience serving and/or reporting to a Board of Directors preferred.
- Proven experience managing complex budgets and financial systems in a multi-site organization.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulatory frameworks, procurement practices, and risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and lead strategic financial and operational plans.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with experience engaging Boards, funders, and senior leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, handle a high volume of work and able to prioritize to meet deadlines.
