Salary Range: $26.01 - $32.51 /hour
Temporary casual part time position until approximately, June 8, 2026, with potential for renewal, subject to the availability of work.
The Hand and Upper Limb Clinical Research Lab produces high quality research on measuring, predicting and reducing upper extremity disability with a focus on surgery and rehabilitation. The research program is based on a strong foundation of clinical measurement studies that define optimal methods of measuring upper extremity impairment, pain and disability.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of Dr.MacDermid and Dr. Grewal in the role of ?Research Assistant 1?. There is a broad range of responsibilities; this includes preparation and set up of ethics submissions; liaison with industry, patients, physicians and healthcare workers; management of documentation, database maintenance and participant recruitment. The primary responsibilities of this role will be to recruit and enroll patients visiting the Hand and Upper Limb Centre into the varies studies being conducted.

Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health-related field, however equivalent qualification/ work experience will be considered.
- Requires excellent interpersonal, supervisory, organizational and planning skills to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and have the ability to deal with confidential matters.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions. Good judgement, initiative, tact and professional attitude in the workplace.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written format, using general and scientific language
- Adaptable, flexible and resourceful.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Completion of a recognized Research Associate certification
- Experience working in an academic/research environment
- Experience with SPSS
- Familiarity with LRI policies and procedures an asset
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work in teams, e.g. including faculty, staff, students and residents.
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
