Reporting and Analytics Analyst

The Innovation and eHealth branch of the Department of Health (DH) is responsible for overall alignment of innovative eHealth and Digital Health services to achieve optimal health system performance. Digital Health solutions focus on quality care for all citizens of New Brunswick and promote clinical value in the delivery of eHealth solutions to clinicians and administrators within the health system.The vision is to create clinical value and improve access to care by providing standardized, up to date, and relevant health information.

The Department of Health requires the services of a Reporting and Analytics Analyst to work closely with Innovation and eHealth’s Enterprise Architecture team in providing services to the DH in collaboration with SNB, the RHAs, vendors, and other stakeholders to develop and support of reports and dashboards for the CCNB Salesforce Platform.

The Reporting and Analytics Analyst will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Report and Dashboard Development - Design and build interactive dashboards and visual reports, use visualizations like bar charts, maps, KPIs, slicers, etc. Ensure reports are user-friendly, clear, and aligned with business goals.
• Data Refresh and Optimization - Schedule automatic refreshes and ensure data pipelines are reliable, optimize performance (reduce report load times, minimize large datasets).
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement - Gather requirements from business users or stakeholders, present dashboards and insights to non-technical audiences, collect feedback and iterate on reports.
• Assist and support eHealth Projects and Operational Teams with report strategy and design.
• Regularly engage with the SNB teams for the purpose of collaboration, guidance, and development;
• Other duties as assigned by CCNB Project Manager. 

Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

• University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the IM/IT field
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Developer/Analyst or in a similar role
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience using Microsoft Power BI to develop dashboards and reports
• Minimum 3 years of experience presenting insights through tools such as:

-- Microsoft PowerPoint

-- Microsoft Power BI Reports and Dashboards

• Minimum 3 years of experience gathering and interpreting data from various sources, including:

-- Salesforce

-- SharePoint

-- MS Excel

-- SQL databases

• Minimum 3 years of experience working with stakeholders to:

-- Translate requirements into data visualizations and analytics

-- Stage data and publish dashboards via Microsoft Power BI service

• Minimum 2 years of experience implementing and documenting data refresh processes for Power BI reports/dashboards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Must be available to work in Fredericton
• Recent (within the last 5 years) training or certifications in Microsoft Power BI

Key deliverables:

• Design, build, and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards and reports
• Connect to and transform data from various sources (e.g., Excel, SQL, APIs, SharePoint)
• Analyze complex datasets to provide insights on business performance and trends
• Work with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and iterate on solutions
• Creation of several operational reports for the ExtraMural Program
• Automate data refreshes and optimize report performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Salesforce Architects, data analysts, and business units
• Document report logic, processes, and data source mappings
• Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI tools and best practices
