About the role

The Regional Working Capital Manager is a key member of the Americas MS Regional Financial Leadership Team and is accountable for the governance and processes relating to billing, collections, credit control, cashflows management, bank accounts rationalisation and cash optimisation across the Americas MS Region. The position needs to ensure that the region consistently delivers on the major working capital KPIs of the Group i.e., DSO, AR over 60 days, CIT, WIP, Cash Conversion and Capex management. The role will work closely with various teams at country, regional, NAM Transactional Services, MSBL and Shared Services as appropriate.


This is a full-time hybrid 8:30 am until 4:30 pm role based out of our Leduc head office. Mondays/Fridays are work from home days; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday are in office.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the Billing and Credit Control team and Regional Working Capital Analyst to ensure that team members are continuously developed through active coaching, mentoring, and training.
  • Work closely with Country Head of Finance/Country GMs (or equivalent) as well as other relevant stakeholders to drive initiatives that are designed to meet the working capital KPIs as defined.
  • Accountable for all month end reporting, Forecast and Budget deliverables as per Group instructions and guidelines.
  • Accountable for the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of billing in line with KPIs and policies and procedures of the Group.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor appropriate performance metrics and dashboards on the status of billing and credit control performance, which will serve as the basis on which pro-active corrective action can be taken.
  • Lead in customer’s discussions / negotiations where necessary on debt recovery, with the support of the relevant business owners.
  • Ensure that Group policies on Billing and Credit Control is embedded across the Americas MS region. Through periodic monitoring activities, ensure that full compliance to these policies are ensured.
  • Accountable for the identification, mitigation, and escalation of all credit risk across the Americas MS region. A consolidated schedule of potential credit risk needs to be always maintained and reported to the Regional CFO, Americas MS for decisions to be taken on completeness of doubtful debt provision.
  • Responsible to work with relevant stakeholders on receipts and payments forecasts, cash conversion reporting and ensure that any deviation from forecasts are pro-actively managed/mitigated for Americas MS region. Work with the business to minimise process gaps in cash management with the aim of cash optimisation for the Group.
  • In charge of all bank accounts administration (new account, account closures, changes in bank signatories) in consultation with Group Treasury and Corporate Secretarial team. Manage relationships with key banking institutions for the region and assist the business with requests for bankers’ guarantees, performance bonds etc.
  • Rationalise the number of bank accounts in the region and streamline bank interest / bank charges.
  • Manage all funding requests within the region prior to submission to MSBL / Group.
  • Partner with countries as required to implement strategies and drive execution for cash extraction.
  • Partner with the business to understand the needs for capex investment and manage capex spend to budget.
  • Lead/Contribute/Drive execution of transformation projects that are aimed at streamlining working capital processes across the Americas MS region.
  • Continuously review work processes to ensure efficient workflow to maximize efficiency and quality of information flow.

About you

Required Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong financial background with advanced Excel skills a pre-requisite. Hands on experience with Cognos and SUN6 are added advantages.
  • Strong in financial analytics, inquisitive thinking, an eye for details and a methodical mindset.
  • Strong leadership skills to work across all levels in a regional environment with set up in different locations / time zones.
  • Ability to lead, coach and mentor with experience in developing high performing teams.
  • Agile with critical thinking skills.
  • Resilient and flexible with a proven ability to lead change management in an unstructured environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to interact with various cultures as well as different levels of management.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and commitment to deliver results in a fast paced and complex environment.
  • A seasoned manager who is hands on and able to lead and drive for performance excellence. Highly analytical and methodical will help to succeed in the role.


Required Work Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience managing a Regional Billing and Credit control function within a multinational organization.
  • Experience with Group / Regional reporting.
  • Experience in managing Treasury function will be an added advantage.
  • Proven success in leading and developing high performing teams.
  • Proven experience in working in unstructured environments and process transformation that resulted in improved KPIs.
  • Must be willing to be hands on to coordinate, manage/drive all reporting requirements for a sizeable region.


Required Qualifications

  • Finance qualification.
  • Qualification in Credit Risk Management and Treasury Management will be advantageous.

  • English – Written and spoken – Excellent command
  • Spanish – added advantage


Travel / Rotation Requirements

  • Travel within the Americas MS region is required.
  • Occasional travel outside of Americas MS region may be required.
