We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. Job Description

As the Health and Safety Advisor, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.

In this fast-paced role, you’ll be responsible for providing operational support across the business with ongoing programs, as well as developing new initiatives to ensure the continued growth of a robust culture of health and safety.

Success in this role will require strong familiarity with incident investigations, COR audits, third-party client approved supplier databases, and the ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team. You’ll also be a strong self-starter with great detail-orientation and a quick learner.

Key Responsibilities


  • Support a strong proactive Safety Culture
  • Work with operations to develop effective procedures for a variety of Health and Safety Programs
  • Provide guidance on interpretation of safety regulations and SLR procedures, and on general technical safety issues
  • Support Incident investigations
  • Assist with Safety Campaigns
  • Mentoring office H&S reps, and participate in national calls and actions
  • Provide support for COR audits with Internal and External auditors
  • Monitor employee training and requirements
  • Management of new employee H&S training, including trainee feedback and content review
  • Support H&S information for client’s prequalification’s and proposals, as well as review of H&S data provided by suppliers
  • Support Regional H&S Manager with monthly statistical reporting

Qualifications


  • Minimum of five years of experience in the Health and Safety field
  • Pursuing a CRSP or CHSC designation
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs including Excel and Word
  • Excellent inter-personal and time management skills
  • Post-secondary education in a related field or demonstrated work experience
  • Willingness/ability to occasionally travel within Canada (less than 10% of the time)
