What YOU Will Do

  • Maintain aircraft in accordance with all manufacturers and company recommendations and regulations
  • Ensure proper completion of all heavy maintenance tasks on aircraft
  • Inspect, assess, and assist in repairs and modifications to heavy maintenance aircraft structures, systems, and equipment in a timely manner
  • Dismantle and assemble aircraft systems for repair and overhaul
  • Troubleshoot aircraft defects and carry out corrective action
  • Responsible for ordering parts during the inspection phase
  • Remove, install, and functionally test aircraft components
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are controlled on aircraft that are receiving maintenance within the company’s facilities and ensure that all technical records are originated and retained with respect to all inspections and maintenance functions
  • Complete records of work done to sustain an accurate record system which includes updating the workflow tracking system daily and approving time sheets for work orders
  • Provide ongoing support, mentorship and development to Heavy Maintenance AME Apprentice staff to uphold a high standard of maintenance
  • Perform work in accordance with all Transport Canada guidelines
  • Ensure that approved and calibrated equipment and materials are utilized, upholding a high standard of workmanship
  • As a dedicated Heavy Maintenance AME, you may be assigned additional responsibilities or other duties to support operational and business requirements
  • Work in compliance with all Administrative, Health & Safety policies and procedures as per legislative requirements and as outlined in Company policies.

What You Bring

  • A valid Canadian AME M2 license
  • Experience in aircraft periodic inspections and heavy inspections
  • Must be able to read, understand and interpret technical publications, maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical drawings and blueprints
  • Diagnostic skills requiring sound knowledge of aircraft systems, aerodynamics, aircraft structures and basic applied mechanics
  • Capable of performing hands-on duties such as disassembling aircraft systems, removal of defective components and installing replacement parts, components and structures
  • Experience performing a large variety of tasks relating to any aspects of aircraft maintenance
  • Highly self-motivated individual with excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and problem-solving

  • Strong capacity to learn, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Technical TC-approved aircraft type training on Chartright managed fleet is considered to be a highly desirable asset

Other Requirements

  • Must qualify for a RAIC and AVOP pass
  • Endorsements preferred
  • Must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license with a clean driver abstract
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends and shiftwork based on workload schedules with short notice at times
  • Occasional travel may be required
