Neighbourly Pharmacy is currently looking for second- and third-year Pharmacy Students to join our team at I.D.A. - RX Drug Mart in Camrose, AB.

Store hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm, Saturday 9:00am-3:00pm, Sunday closed

Job Description

Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, and under the supervision of a pharmacist, this role is responsible for performing specific dispensing functions as outlined by provincial regulations and standards of practice.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities

The pharmacy student must be always under the supervision of a pharmacist. All dispensing functions performed by a pharmacy student must be carried out following provincial regulations and standards of practice.

  • Filling, preparing and labelling prescription refills.
  • Billing and adjudication.
  • Compounding.
  • Medication change management for compliance packaging for care home customers.
  • Preparing care home orders for delivery.
  • Communication with nursing staff at care homes.
  • Assisting the pharmacist in their daily tasks.
  • Locate the medication, select the prescription container, and count/pour the medication.
  • Ensure that the original container, prescription container contents, and label are checked and initialed by the pharmacist.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Currently enrolled in the 2nd or 3rd year of a PharmD program.
  • Previous Retail Pharmacy experience is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and have experience multi-tasking.
  • Professional attitude and ability to communicate well with customers and co-workers.
  • Due to this position’s sensitive nature, the successful candidate must complete a Criminal Record Check.
